High School: Cars and Dating. Two of the biggest changes that happen in one’s life.  You’re finally 16, that means you can drive and for some people it means you can start dating. But besides dances, the amount of dates is at a notably low count. Davis high is known so much for this that they are nicknamed “Dateless Davis” a term that many people wish would change.

I asked students both male and females if they had been asked out in the past month and if they’ve been asked out in the past month. 11 out of 20 girls have not been asked out in the past month. 3 out of 20 have been asked out in the past month by someone that goes to Davis, and 6 out of 20 have been asked out in the past month but not by someone who goes to Davis. For the guys 9 out of 20 have not asked a girl out in the past month. 5 out of 20 have asked a girl out that goes to Davis. 6 out of 20 have asked out a girl in the past month that do not go to Davis. As for the girls asking guys out, these were the results; 9 out of 20 girls have asked a guy out in the past month that go to Davis. 1 in 20 have asked a guy out in the past month that does not go to Davis, and 10 out of 20 girls haven’t asked out a guy in the past month. For the guys the results were 6 out of 20 guys have been asked out by a girl in the past month that does not go to Davis. 3 out of 20 have been asked by a girl that does not go to Davis, and 11 haven’t been asked out by someone in the past month. The overall numbers are pretty rough. If you haven’t asked anyone out because you don’t know what to do for a date, there are hundreds of ideas you can find on various internet sites that range from free to whatever amount of money you are wanting to spend. They also have different dates for different seasons, so the whether is never a deciding factor of going out. It’s 2018, asking someone out is easier than ever. Ask when you see them in the halls, at lunch, at a game, in class, call over the phone, go to their house, heck you could even text 3 words and ask them out! Dating is part of the high school experience, no one wants to miss out on.

Step up your game Davis, ask someone out.
