Student Entrepreneur Wins Cash Award
January 13, 2017
The Startup Weber: High School Challenge is an entrepreneurship competition open to Utah high school students, grades 10-12. According to the Weber University website, “the competition fosters and promotes business growth by giving students a chance to organize, direct, and present a business growth by giving students a chance to organize, direct, and present a business idea to a panel of judges.”
To be eligible to compete, the student must be currently enrolled in a Utah high school, and in grades 10-12. The only existing restriction is that the business idea must be solely of the competitor.
Makayla Prince submitted her idea for an entrepreneur e-course that fellow teens could learn from. She walked away with 2nd place and $1,500. She plans to use this money to create two scholarships for those interested in teaching kids.
