Boys volleyball was first brought to Davis High School five years ago. One of the coaches of the Boy’s Volleyball Club, Coach Salvo, said the main reason that the Boy’s Volleyball Club exists is because of the passion that alumni Spencer Hafen showed.

“He was just like, ‘Salvo we want to play volleyball so bad!’ He got us going with the league,” Salvo said.

Salvo explained that Hafen tried out for her girls volleyball team. He was so excited and said that he wanted to play volleyball immensely. Haffen pushed the coaches over the edge with his relentless pleading to join the team. With this boy showing such a love for the game, he was allowed to join the girls team thus starting the Boy’s Volleyball Club team.
