Corvettes get a lot of hate for being “cheap cars” or “not a supercar”. The 2025
Corvette ZR1 may have proven all those accusations wrong. The new ZR1 has just
been released and it is putting
up some crazy numbers. The
engine in the new Corvette is a
5.5 Liter V8 producing 1064
horsepower. It makes this power
with twin turbochargers helping
push it past 1000 horsepower.
Another reason this car is so fast is because of its weight, it only weighs 3,500 lbs. This
is the fastest Corvette Chevrolet has ever made.
A bit of history with the Corvette, it first appeared in the early 1970s as a
performance car from Chevrolet. The ZR1 was first introduced in 1990 and went to 1995
with the C4 generation of the car. The ZR1 returned in 2009 – 2013 with the C6
generation. It had a 6.2L LS9 V8 producing 638 horsepower. With the C7 variant of the
car, it was pushing 755 horsepower. The C8 has made significant improvements with
adding turbochargers. The older generations of the car didn’t focus on any
aerodynamics, they just wanted to add a big engine in the car. With the newer models,
they have focused more on the body. They have added aggressive bodywork, larger air
intakes, and a wider stance on the car. They have added lighter materials so the car is
lighter. Using carbon fiber and aluminum creates better weight distribution for the car.
The suspension the car has is magnetic ride control with adaptive suspension that helps
with tight turns. It has massive Brembo brakes and different modes in the car with
