Alan Spaulding the Davis High agriculture teacher

Alan Spaulding is the Davis high school Agriculture teacher. He teaches many classes regarding
agriculture from animal science to green house. Many students enjoy his classes because he is
very fun and engaging.
Spaulding grew up in a small town called Hooper, Utah located south west of Ogden. He went to
Fremont High School. He has lived there his whole life and he is currently still living there with
his wife and kids.
Spaulding has loved teaching at Davis high school. “The students all want to learn” Spaulding
said. He loves how al of his student are ready and prepared to learn about his classes. And he
loves teaching them about animals and plants.
When Spaulding was starting college at Utah State he wanted to go into the medical field. He
never thought he would be a teacher at Davis high school. He thought he was going to be a
doctor of some kind. He always thought he was going to go to school in the medical field but that
never worked out.
Spaulding is the advisor for the FFA which is where students can join and compete in
competitions like dairy judging, livestock judging, or floral culture. The FFA also has socials
with food, and games. Spaulding loves being the advisor for the FFA.
“I love watching the students win, grow, and develop new skills in the FFA” Spaulding said. He
loves to watch the students learn how to become leaders in the FFA. This skill can also be
applied in life scenarios. Every year the FFA students go to a leadership conference to learn how
to become better leaders.
Before Spaulding was a teacher he owned his own greenhouse business and also farmed his land
as a side job. Spaulding’s greenhouse was located in Hooper, Utah he own it for 10 years before
coming a teacher. He loved having the greenhouse. The green house was called “Muskrat
Springs Lawn & Garden.”
“We sow it you grow it” This was his businesses moto for the greenhouse business.
He said he misses the business but never will regret being a teacher for Davis high. Spaulding
loves teaching for Davis. And enjoys meeting new students each year and helping them learn
new skills.
