Davis High D’ettes: All their amazing wins this season

Alexandra Smith

The Davis High D’ettes took 1st place at their 6A tournament at UVU. The D’ettes are the overall sweepstakes champions! This was a fantastic win especially because they beat Layton which is our team’s biggest competition. The D’ettes competed with 3 different routines. The 3 routines they have are dance, character, and military. The team got 1st in dance, 1st in character and 3rd in their military routine.

At the region tournament, the girls got 1st in their military routine, 2nd in their dance routine and 2nd in their character routine. At the region tournament, the D’ettes got 2nd overall!

At state, the D’ettes got 5th place overall. Their character routine got 2nd place, this is something to be extremely proud of considering how highly competitive the tournament was. The D’ettes compete against other 6A schools. The 6A school dance teams are very good competition. The 6A state tournament is a huge tournament that is very important to the team. They have been practicing for this tournament for months and their hard work does not go unnoticed.

There were 26 other teams competing at state yet only 9 of those teams make it to finals. Davis High School is excited we have a dance team as talented and impressive as our stunning D’ettes.

“It’s so rewarding to have all our hard work pay off while we have fun on the competition floor. It’s the best feeling ever!” stated Shelby Sanders, a senior on the Davis High D’ettes.

The girls have worked extremely hard for their wins. They have to go to early morning practices to perfect their routines. The D’ettes will work on their routines for at least 20 hours a week. The D’ettes have had an amazing season this year and Davis High School is proud to be represented by our D’ettes.
