Boys Tennis: Darts ready to take a swing
Boys tennis season is right around the corner and the team is working harder than ever. With a new coach at Davis, this will be a very exciting season. Jace Harris, a senior here at Davis High who will be joining the team talks highly of the new coach.
“We have a new coach and she is really awesome.” states Jace Harris.
It is obvious that the varsity team has a very good line up after talking to Jace.
“I want to take first in region, and I think we can definitely do that.” says Harris.
Davis is going into this season confident, hoping to secure a spot in region and a couple of players in state.
Though most of the team are new players, a lot of the team is returning as well. Many students love to involve themselves in school sports, so tennis is another perfect opportunity to get involved.
Tennis is made up of mainly two categories: singles and doubles. Most of the team members participate in singles, which means that they only compete one on one. There are a couple double teams on the team, and they play two on two.
“My past doubles partner is now going to Farmington High, so I am hoping to beat him this season.” admits Jace.
The team is aiming for many goals, so going into this season confident is key. Wish the team good luck this spring and make sure to go and support their matches.
