A Rundown of the Spectacular 2018-2019 Girls Basketball Season

The Davis Girls Basketball team had a great season this year getting 5-3 in non-region games and 7-5 in region games. Going 13-8 overall and taking 2nd in region 1.

John Tupuola said “This year’s team was very young with just one senior on the team. This year’s team made it to the playoffs after missing it the last couple of years, and their lack of experience showed. But they made up for it as they battled to the end and gained some valuable experience as they built for the future.”

They played Lone Peak at 4:10 Monday the 14th. The Knights bested the Darts 54-37. Davis didn’t shoot as well as the Knights, only shooting 34% and the Knights shooting 56%. The Knights also out-rebounded the Darts 33 to 25, making it difficult for the darts to get any second chance points.

John also said “They started off slow and had many fouls and shots that didn’t go their way. The first half was evident of this as they only managed to score 11 points while Lone Peak had 25. In the 2nd half, we showed a lot more life and a sense of urgency. We scored 26 to Lone Peaks’ 29, but the 14 point lead to Lone Peak built in the first half was too much to overcome, as the final score was 54-37.”
